How to Train Runecrafting on Runescape F2p
In your attempt to become filthy rich through very few hours of work by runecrafting, you have decided to read this guide. Firstly I will begin by telling you what will be needed on your journey to F2p bliss.
What You Will Need
This section will be the same whether you are combat level 3 or 126. Firstly, you will need to complete the Rune Mysteries quest. This is a fairly simple quest which requires nothing from you. After completing this quest, you will be able to access the rune essence mines by teleporting from Aubury in Varrock or Sedridor in the Wizard’s Tower basement.
Items needed to runecraft –
- Tiaras (depending on which kind of runes you wish to craft) Air tiara is recommended
- Pickaxe (any kind)
- Friends willing to help you level up (not necessary but makes training a lot faster)
Step 1: Acquiring Rune Essence
Get your pickaxe out and unequip all your other items and store in bank (allows you to run for longer periods). Go to Varrock east bank and bank your entire inventory. Go directly south of the bank and teleport to mines through Aubury. Head to one of the huge mounds of essence and mine until your inventory is full. Head back out and bank your essences. Repeat this until you have the amount of essences you want, or until you get bored of doing this. Remember, training skills should be fun!
Step 2: Transforming Rune Essences to Runes
As a beginner, air runes are the first runes you will be able to craft. The altar is just south of Falador and west of Draynor. They are one of the easiest runes to make, as the altar is in plain view, and near-enough to the Falador east bank. Equip your air tiara, or if you don’t have one, take your air talisman out of your bank. Fill the rest of your inventory with rune essences. Again it would be wise to unequip and store all weapons/armor so that you can run longer. Run from Falador east bank to the altar and turn essence to runes. Run back and deposit. Once you can make more than a few airs per essence, it will be wise to walk from Falador, to the altar, and then teleport back to save time.
Air crafting is the easiest and most profitable method of runecrafting on f2p servers. In order to maximize experience, you can meet some of your friends in Falador bank and give them 27 rune essences each. They should follow you to the altar and after you craft runes from the essences in your inventory, you can then trade them half the amount of air runes, e.g., if you make 27 air runes per 27 rune essence, give them 14 air runes every time they give you rune essences. This way you all make a profit because you get much more experience than if you were to do it for yourself. Eventually, you will be able to make more than one air rune per essence. That is where you start making money. Keep doing this over and over and eventually, at only level 44 runecrafting, you will be making 1232 air runes by using only 28 rune essences! This would entail huge profits, making you rich in no time.
Runecrafting at early levels will be tedious work but made less easier if you use my “friends” method.
It makes no sense in f2p to runecraft minds/earths/fires/waters/bodies since there is almost no way that they can help you earn money when compared to crafting air runes when time and amount of runes per essence is considered.
Hope you enjoyed this guide and if you continue crafting runes for one month at 3 hours a day with 2 friends, you will be level 66 runecrafting in no time!! (This means almost 2k airs with only 28 rune essences!)
Happy Runecrafting!
Easy Runescape Gold for F2p
Tired of being poor in Runescape?
In Runescape, it is much harder to make money in f2p than in p2p, Members have countless ways to make easy gold because of their high stats, more skills and more places to visit while the others work hours to get some decent cash. However, there are some easy ways to make money in Runescape. I will list the top five ways here.
AIR-RUNNING
This is probably the easiest way to make money in Runescape since it requires no skills at all and you can make 2000g per minute with it. To begin get your hands on 25 rune essence, either mine it or buy it. Then go to the air altar in world 16, You will notice that the place is very crowded. This is the world 16 aircraft company, the biggest air company in Runescape. You will see that some people are shouting “open 2k”, trade with that person and offer him the 25 essence, he with give you 2000 gold and 25 noted essence. Take the essence to the nearest bank, un-note it, and trade it with another person at the air altar for another 2000g and noted essence. Repeat these steps as much as you want. You will make a ton of money soon.
MINING ESSENCE
Mining and selling essence is a slower way of making money but it gives you some mining experience. To begin with complete the rune mysteries quest, Then go to Varrock in any world between 1 and 8. Go to Aubury’s rune shop and have him teleport you to the essence mines, mine the essence until your inventory is full and then store the essence in the north bank. Repeat these steps until you have 100 essence, take the 100 essence out of your bank (noted) and start shouting “selling ess”, the people there are usually desperate to buy essence so you will get some trade offers soon. Never sell your essence for less than 30g each, You can get at least 3000g for every 100 essence you mine.
NEWT EYES
This is a very profitable business but requires some patience and some starting cash. Get 3k cash and go to the magic shop in port Sarim, the shop sells newt eyes for 3g each, fill your inventory with them and store them in the draynor bank. Keep buying eyes until you have 1k eyes stored in your bank. Now go to Varrock in any world between 1 and 8 and you can sell 1k eyes to people for as much as 250k. This is because anyone who is raising his herblore skill doesn’t have enough time to go back and forth from the bank and will be willing to spend that much money for something so cheap. For those who dont know, Newt eyes are used for making potions.
STRONGHOLD OF SECURITY
For those who don’t know, the stronghold of security has 10k waiting for any player who has enough time to go there. To go to the stronghold, go to the barbarian village and go down the hole that is in the mining site. The stronghold has 4 levels, each level with more dangerous monsters than the last one. You’ll need some good armour, food and defence level to survive the monsters inside. The first level gives 2k, second one gives 3k, third one gives 5k and the fourth one gives some fancy boots. Its a good place to level up for f2p.
MAKING RUNES
It is actually possibly for f2p to make lots of money by runecrafting. Runes sell for 20g each in world 1-8 Varrock. Not only you will gain lots of mining and Runecrafting experiernce, but you will make lots of money. The higher your runecrafting level gets, the more runes you will be able to make, and the more runes you make, the more money you earn. Once you have a lot of money, you can buy the essence from other players instead of mining it and even start your own rune business. Just stay away from body runes, they may give more experience but no one buys them so you’ll just waste time.
Now that you have your information, log on to Runescape and start making some gold!
Runescape: F2p money tips – by turtling
Runescape free to play money making can be hard at first, but rest assured, there are plenty of ways for you to make lots of gold.
My best tip is to have a good f2p skill. Fishing and woodcutting are both exellent choices.
Woodcutting is a very popular and profitable skill for free players. It’s fast and easy to raise, and when you get to level 60 woodcutting, you can cut yews. These sell for around 450gp each, and do’t take too long to collect. To quickly raise your woodcutting level, cut willows at draynor village. They give very fast xp, so good that even on members they are the preffered speedy training method.
Fishing is another skill you can use to make money as a free to play runescaper. It can be trained fairly quickly, and you can sell lobsters for 250-350gp a piece. You need only level 40 fishing to catch them. The fastest way to train fishing to 40 is by fly fishing. You can start fly fishing at lvl 20 fishing, and you will need a fly fishing rod and some feathers, which can be bought from the fishing store in port sarim. When you’re ready to catch your lobsters, take the boat from port sarim to karajma and head down to the wharf. There is often a lot of people fishing there, so it can be a fun and social activity.
Investing is a good way to make money, but you will need at least a little bit of capital first. Think carefully about items that will likely go up in price. There are many items whose price fluctuates a lot. It’s best not to put all your eggs in one basket. Buy up a good number of several different items. Wait, and watch the grand exchange for the right time to sell, and then harvest your profits.
It’s also important when selling on the grand exchange to always try to sell things at the highest price. Even if it doesn’t sell straight away, leave it there for a while. If that fails, move onto a little cheaper, and leave it there. And so forth. Never be impatient and just sell at lowest, unless you’re certain the price is about to drop a fair bit.
There are also various things you can buy from stores and then sell on the grand exchange for a profit. Cheese and other cooking items, eye of newt from the magic shop, etc. Buy as many as you can afford, and then sell on the GE. It’s a sure way to increase your bank balance.
Killing the giant cockroaches in the dungeon near the stronghold of security is another way to make some cash. These drop rune scimmys and rune square sheilds, which can be sold for a good price.
It’s important to avoid spending your hard earned money as much as possible. Fish your own food, make your own stuff, as much as you can. You’ll never get rich if you’re unnessessarily eating into your bank balance all the time.

A Guide To F2P Runescape Merchanting
Merchanting, as many of you know, is the most effective moneymaking method. It is quite easy for members to merchant, but rather difficult for nonmembers to do it. In my 3 years of playing Runescape, I have found a couple of different ways for nonmembers to merchant. They have made me a very successful Runescape player and have since acquired many rares.
The only kind of merchanting I will discuss is a very profitable one of runes. When you log in to World 1 and walk around Varrock, you might see people yelling out, “Selling 6k deaths 290 each.†You might ask yourself as to how they have acquired all those runes. It really is simple: either buying them from other players at lower prices or buying them straight from shops. Buying them from other players can sometimes be fruitful, but constantly dealing with noobs and scammers can get annoying. That’s why I have opted to go for the shops.
There are two rune-selling shops in the F2P world: south of Falador and mid-Varrock. Each stocks 250 each of death runes and chaos runes. That is, if nobody has already bought them yet. That’s where you come in! The most effective way to buy the runes is set up a noob account or an account you’ve previously had and drop trade 1/3-1/2 of your money to them.
Yes, I know this is against the rules, but as a nonmember you’re gonna need every advantage you can get. Have the noob account go to the Varrock shop and have your main stop in the Falador shop. Now the fun part:
- Go on late at night or very early in the morning
- Click on a very un-busy world (not the most un-busy) and log in to your main
- Buy all the chaos and death runes in the Falador shop
- Log out
- In the same world, log in to your noob account
- Buy all the chaos and death the shop has
- Log out and choose a new world
- Repeat
Do this until you run out of money. Your main and noob should run out of money at around the same time. Then, drop trade all runes and remaining money to your main. This way is most effective since you don’t need to mess with the “You have just logged out of another world††kind of crap, which doubles your speed of buying. Once you have all your runes, go to Varrock World 1 and sell all your runes at 5-10 gp than the other guy. The best is to stand right next to him and yell it.
To be most effective, yell “Selling ____ Chaos ___ each. (Name).†Depending on how much you started with and how much you sold the runes for, you usually end up with a 130-150% yield of your money. This may not seem like much, but consider this: Starting out with 500k, you get 750k. Do it again, you get 1125k. And so on.
This strategy helped me make millions and used to own a mask set + green mask + Santa. (But then I sold them and I am sad because they are worth so much more now).
Hope I helped!
Making Money on Runescape by Merchanting (F2P)
An extremely easy and effective way to make money on Runescape is by merchanting, which is basically a process in which a player generates an income through buying low and selling high. More specifically, in this guide, I will cover the basic of Shop Surfing, which is essentially the same as merchanting, but less dependant on player-to-player trades.
Shop surfing can be done at several locations, with different results at different times of day. While the process is EXTREMELY easy, it is often a matter of when and where the best opportunities are available. Over time, I have found that the following locations are best for the following type of shop surfing:
Varrock General Store – General Items:
World:Any highly populated world in which players are constantly selling items to the General Store.Strategy: Impressive profits can be turned here through the buying of various items such as Runes (of all types), Ore (preferably mithril and up), food, limpwurts, potions, and various other player made / gathered items that are generally not sold in other stores. It is highly recommended that you have at least 50,000gp before venturing into this investment. Adament Ore as well as Feathers, for example, can be bought from a general store for a fraction of its market value (causing a great return on your investment).
Varrock Rune Shop – Runes:
World: Any lowly populated world in which their are few players located in the rune shop.Strategy: When runes are in low demand at the shop, prices for Air, Fire, Water, and Earth Runes can often reach as low as half of the market value (the value at which you can sell an item to another player. Therefore, the more runes that you can purchase at below-market price, the great your profit when you sell to other players.
As simple as it may sound, the process is even easier and exponential more profitable if you are a Member, due to the increased number of rune shops at which you can surf. F2P players on the other hand, will no doubt begin to get frustrated as they find that others, including bots, have already looted the Rune Shops and General Stores.
Runescape F2P Money Making Guide
In this guide I will give you hints and tips on money making, merchanting, and becoming a millionaire! I’ve personally tried all of these and know what they all work! prices will be current as of 6-13-07. In this guide I’ll explain how to make over 900k at level 3! Follow the instructions in my guide and you’ll be a millionaire in no time.
Merchanting overview: Merchanting can be your best friend if you know how to do it. The rule to making a profit while merchanting is very simple: Buy Low, Sell High. There are many other rules you need to follow in order to successfully merchant.
- Be firm with your prices! Don’t drop your prices because you’re not selling, eventually you will.
- Be friendly! No one wants to buy from someone that just called them a noob.
- When buying, try to get the seller to lower the price. haggle with him. If he’s firm, then just pay the full price.
- Spell with proper grammar. No one wants to buy from someone saying “S311ing 41r run35 lawlz” just type like a normal Person.
- It helps to listen to music or browse forums or something while you’re merchanting. Merchanting can be pretty boring, so have something to do while you’re doing it so you don’t go crazy from boredom.
- It takes money to make money. Don’t be afraid to spend all your money on the items listed in this guide. It’ll definitely be worth it in the long run.
- Always make your typing bright and nice looking. When I’m buying or selling, I always write: Cyan:wave2:Selling xxxxxx, xxxx ea!!===lacrosse fan (my in game name) so it’s not just that same old boring yellow type, people can see who I am, what I’m selling, and for how much.
- ALWAYS HAVE A CALCULATOR OPEN. Whether it’s your computer calculator or your real life calculator it doesn’t matter, but always have one ready.
Without further ado, here’s my Runescape f2p money making guide!
Air Running:
- 0-100k
- Difficulty: Low
- Time: Long
- World(s): 16
- Rating:7/10
- Requirements: Rune mysteries Quest, Air talisman/tiara
On world 16 near Falador bank, you’ll see a bunch of people running around together. Why? because they’re running to the air temple and back. Air running is a pretty popular thing, because it’s a way to get 2k for free.
All you need is an Air talisman (or tiara), 25 UNNOTED essences, and a lot of patience. What you do is you get 25 unnoted essences, and rune to the mysterious ruins (follow someone to get there if you don’t know how) and use your talisman with it. it’ll teleport you. After you get teleported, look around for someone that is saying “Open” or “Open 2k” and trade them. put up your 25 unnoted essences and he’ll put up 2k cash and 25 noted essences.
Accept and you’ll have 2k and 25 unnoted essences. Run back to the bank and deposit your 25 essences, and withdraw them back out unnoted, and run back to the mysterious ruins. Find someone else (or the same person) saying open, trade them your unnoted essences and you’ll get 2k and 25 noted essences. Run back, unnote them and repeat until you have 100k. Air running takes a long time but is a foolproof method of getting money.
Feathers:
- 0-100k
- Difficulty: Low
- Time: Medium
- World(s): Any
- Rating: 6/10
- Requirements: None
What you do to is you go to the chicken coop near lumbridge, or in the champions guild (32 Quest Points required) and start killing chickens, they probably won’t even cause any damage on you, regardless of your level, and pick up ALL the feathers they drop. They drop 5-15 feathers almost every time, but occasionally they won’t drop any.
After you get about 5k feathers (should take about 30 minutes to an hour) go to the Runescape forums, and look around for a thread saying “buying feathers 7-10 ea”. Since you’re f2p you won’t be able to post, but you can still read the threads and sell to the people buying feathers, add them to your friends list and tell them you’re selling your feathers. If you got 5k feathers like I said, the very least you should sell them for is 35k, or you could go to Varrock world 1 and say you’re selling feathers 7-10 ea, that works too.
After you’ve sold your feathers you will hire other people to get the feathers for you. Just go to the lumbridge Chicken Coop and tell the people there you’ll pay 3 gp per feather, hire about 5-10 people there and tell them to sell you the feathers every 1k. so 5 people selling you 1k feathers for 4 ea is 20k. now you sell those 5k feathers for another 35k, bringing your total to 45k. Repeat until 100k.
Eyes of Newt:
- 6k-400k
- Difficulty:Easy
- Time:Long
- World(s):Any
- Requirements: Some money to buy eye of newts
Eye of newts can be a huge money maker but it takes a lot of time. First go to the Draynor bank.Have some money and go to the Port Sarim magic shop. Buy 27 eye of newts for 3 gp each then store them in the bank. Once you have 2k eye of newts or more try to sell them in the Runescape forums. This will take some time but you can sell them for gp each, thus making a 197 gp profit on each eye of newt! While the eyes of newt might seem like it could make you rich, it is one the most incredibly long and boring ways to merchant.
Rune Merchanting
- 100k-200k
- Difficulty: Low
- Time: Medium
- World(s): 1-5
- Rating: 8/10
- Requirements: None
Congratulations you made your first 100k! Now with that 100k you can go to Varrock and start merchanting rune items, like scimitars, 2h’s, Full helms and plate bodies. Personally I like 2h’s and full helms, you can buy a rune scimitar for 20k and sell it for 25k. rune 2h for 45k and sell for 50-55k. rune plate bodies for 50k and sell for 55-60k, and full helms for 18-20k and sell for 25-36k.
I’ve tried all these, and in my experience, it’s easiest to buy rune full helms for 20k and selling for 25k. With your first 100k, I recommend buying 5 rune full helms for 20k ea and selling for 25k ea. After you’ve sold all your full helms you should have 125k, and with that you can buy 6 rune full helms for 20k ea. Do so, and resell for 25k ea. That’ll bring you to 150k. Buy 7 rune full helms 20k ea and sell for 25k ea. That’ll bring you to 175k. You know what you can buy with that much? That’s right! FULL RUNE!
With your 175k buying full rune for 165-175k. and sell for 180-200k. It’ll be hard to sell for 200k, or 190k for that matter. so try to sell for 180k. Do that until you have 200k, and then you can choose to do one of two things: Rune merchanting (as in air runes, waters, fires, etc..) or my favorite f2p money maker of all time: Lobster Merchanting.
Lobster Merchanting:
- 200k-1000k+
- Difficulty: Low
- Time: Short
- World(s): 1-5
- Rating: 10/10
- Requirements: None
This is by far my favorite method of making money in Runescape, Lobster Merchanting! With your 200k (from Rune item merchanting) go to world 1 Varrock in front of the bank (past where you buy runes, in the big field) type “Buying 1k Lobs, 200k!” and you should get them relatively quick. After you buy the lobs, walk to Edgeville bank, and switch to worlds either 3 or 5, and say “Selling lobs 220 ea!!!===your game name” and you’ll get a lot of trades pretty fast, as soon as the trade screen comes up put up all your lobsters.
Normally, the person will put up 22k (enough for 100 lobsters) but sometimes they’ll buy up 44k (200 lobs) 66k (300 lobs) or sometimes even 88k (400 lobs). Sometimes, if you’re lucky the person will put up 25k for 100 lobsters, because that’s there normal price for buying 100 lobsters, and they don’t want to mess up their amount of money. So if someone puts up 25k, they’ll want 100 lobsters. You’ll sell the lobsters pretty quickly, and after you sell them all you should have 220k. Not that big of a profit NOW.
But keep doing that (or any of the other methods listed in this guide) until you have 400k. At 400k you can buy 2k lobsters, and sell for 440k. 40k profit? Nice! Keep merchanting lobsters until 780k, or you can keep going forever to get as much money as you want.
Rune T/G Merchanting:
- 780k-1400k+
- Difficulty: Medium
- Time: Long
- World(s): 1-5
- Rating: 7/10
- Requirements: None
Congratulations, you now have enough money to buy full rune t!! You can either quit here, or you can continue on and make even more money! Ok now. With your 780k, go to the left of Varrock West bank, and at the top left corner, you’ll see people buying and selling full rune t/g. With your 780k (you can with 750k, but it’s MUCH harder) say “Buying full rune t”. After you’ve bought your full rune t, say “Selling full rune T” and you’ll get a lot of trades. Only accept if they offer 840k or more. After you’ve sold it, re-buy for 780k, and sell for 840k (or more).
From here and you could start merchanting phats and other rare stuff like or just continue merchanting using my ideas.
(Note all the prices may and could suddenly change, be aware of that.)

Combat
Killing creatures is one of the most popular method used to make money in RuneScape. This also ties into the members’ skill, Slayer, where you kill creatures for profit. Players who train and make money off the Slayer skill are simply called Slayers. While raising Slayer levels, you can make profit. Also in non-member worlds, the style of killing even the most basic creatures can have profits. For example, beginners at combat in RuneScape can kill Chickens or Cows. The feathers from the Chickens can be sold for 5-15gp each, to Fletchers and Fishers. Cow Hides can be sold to Crafters who use it to level the Crafting Skill, and sell their crafted armor to Rangers.
Slayer monsters such as Jellies, Nechryaels, and Abyssal Demons drop items for people to make a profit from. The following table consists of the best monsters to fight for profits.
Recommended Monsters Name Description Chickens Can be found north of Lumbridge, Southeast of Falador, among other locations. Since Chickens only have three Hitpoints, they are relatively fast to kill, and their Feathers can be sold for 5-15gp each. Cows Can be found slightly northeast of Lumbridge, southeast of Falador, and in many other places. In non-member worlds, these locations are relatively crowded since their hides can be sold for 100-150gp each. Minotaurs Are found in the Stronghold of Security. They are killed for their iron arrow drops, which can be sold on the Runescape forums or World 1 for about 15 gp each. Hill Giants Are found west of the gate of the Tree Gnome Stronghold, and in Edgeville’s Dungeon. They are easily killed when you are around 45 Combat, and you can sell their Big Bones for 300-400gp each. Moss Giants Can be found in Varrock Sewers and on Crandor Isle, an attachment to Karamja. The main reason they are killed are for their bones. Their Big Bones can be sold for 300-400gp each. Fire Giants Can be found in the Waterfall Dungeon and the Wilderness Fire Giant Dungeon, and are stronger than the other giants. Instead of killing them for their bones, they are killed for their Rune Scimitar, and Dragon Drops. Also, they drop Fire Battlestaffs which can be High-Alched using Magic for 9,300gp.
Aviansies Can be found in the God Wars Dungeon. They drop many Adamantite Bars, Rune Daggers, and Rune Limbs. They are one of the best monsters to kill for money. By wearing a symbol from the god, Armadyl, they will be non-aggressive to you. Lesser Demons Can be found under the Karamja Volcano. They are mainly killed for their Rune Medium Helm drops, which can be High-Alched for 11,520gp. Greater Demons an be found in the Brimhaven Dungeon, and at Gu’Tanoth’s Dungeon. To kill Greater Demons at Brimhaven, take 875gp, a Machete, a Rune Axe (hatchet), the best armor and food you have, as well as a way to teleport out of the dungeon. Head through the dungeon until you see Moss Giants, and then climb the stairs to get to the area with Greater Demons and Wild Dogs. Greater Demons are killed for Level 3 Clue Scrolls and Rune Full Helms. If you also pick up the coins they drop you can easily gain a few thousand coins. The Rune Full Helm drops can be sold for 20,000-30,000gp each. Crawling Hands Require a Slayer level of 5, and the main reason to kill these is the fact that they drop colored gloves which can be easily sold on non-member worlds. Nearly anyone can kill them, and make at least 500gp off each set of Gloves. Bloodvelds Require a Slayer level of 50. It is recommended that you Range them, as there is a safe spot, or you can attack them with a Halberd, however the Halberds speed does not work with its benefits. Bloodvelds are killed for the Blood Runes they drop. Jellies Are found at the Fremennik Slayer Caves. They use melee style attacks with a magic basing. In other words, they attack melee style, but you will want to wear Dragonhide Armor for protection as their attacks are magic based. They are primarily killed for coins (which if you pick up all the coins they drop, can add up to a few thousand), Rune Full Helms, and Level 3 Clue Scrolls. Dust Devils Require a Slayer level of 65, and are found in the Smokey Well. You need a Facemask to protect against the smoke which acts as poison. Dust Devils are primarily killed for their rare Dragon Chainbody drop which occurs 1 in a 10,000-16,000 chance range. It is recommended to either range them using Safe Spots, or Hally them, as they can deal up to 8 damage. The Dragon Chainbody can be sold for 10,000,000 gp each. They are also found at Canifis Slayer Tower, and are primarily killed for Rune Boot drops, which can be sold for 25k. Abyssal Demons Can be found at the top of the Canifis Slayer Tower or in the Alternate Abyss which is reached by using the Fairy Ring’s coordinates ALR. Green Dragons Are found in the Wilderness and are mainly killed for Green Dragonhides which sell for about 1,600-1,700gp, and Dragon Bones which sell for 1,500-1,600gp each. There is only on in the Heroes’ Guild, but it’s in a fenced off area and can be ranged or maged. Blue Dragons drop Blue Dragonhide which sell for 1,700-2,000gp each. They also drop Dragon Bones which can sell for 1,500-1,600gp each. Black Dragons Are found in either Taverley Dungeon or the Evil Chicken’s Lair. They are easily ranged. They drop Black Dragonhides which sell for 3,300-3,600 gp each. They drop the elusive, Draconic Visage. Steel Dragons, Iron Dragons, Mithril Dragons, Skeletal Wyverns, and Black Dragons also drop the visage, but it is a very rare drop. King Black Dragon Is the second strongest dragons in RuneScape, and due to this, drop some of the best items. Their drops include Dragon Medium Helms which sell for 75,000 gp, Dragonstones which sell for 50,000-60,000gp, Black Dragonhide which sells for 2,500-4,000gp, Dragon Bones which sell for 1,500-1,600gp each, and Level 3 Clue Scrolls. For more information on how to kill the Kalphite Queen, please see the Kalphite Queen Hunting guide.

Cooking
Cooking is a difficult skill to make money off of, mainly because raw food generally sells for higher prices than cooked food. One of the only way to make money with this skill is to fish your own fish and then cook and sell. One item that would help cooking most food are the Cooking Gauntlets from the Family Crest Quest, you are given an invisible level boost that will help prevent burning of seafood.
Another method is to make Wild Pies. These pies are very cheap to make, but are quite profitable once you sell them. You usually make around 800 gp each pie. Their materials can be obtained quite easily. The table below shows what items you need and where to get them.
Cooking Items Item Cost Where to Obtain Raw Rabbit Meat 20gp Oo’glog Food Shop -> Oo’glog Bank Raw Bear Meat 8gp Oo’glog Food Shop -> Oo’glog Bank Pie Dish 4gp General Store at Gnomecopters -> Bank Deposit Box Pot of Flour 14gp Port Khazard -> Bank Deposit Box Bucket of Water 6gp Shantay’s Shop at Shantay Pass -> Shantay Pass Bank Raw Chompy 276gp Grand Exchange Total Cost 328gp –

Crafting
With the Crafting skill, a large variety of items can be created with most of them in demand by other players.
Armor
Besides Smithing, Crafting is the only other skill that players can use to make a variety of armor with. Out of the armors available to be made (Leather, Snakeskin, a

free players who choose to train on them, some high-level ores such as mithril and adamant, and even rune scimitars and rune square shields for rarer drops. (For members, they mainly drop charms, seeds, and herbs.) No food is needed, but a high enough percent of run is recommended. The reward may only be received once per player, however, if a player loses/drops their Safety gloves they can come back to the chest for a new pair.
Once completed, the Cockroach soldiers (level 83) drop Rune Scimitar,Rune Sq Shield and dragon spears. They also drop a lot of crimson charms, which are used in summoning. They also offer decent training for higher leveled players.
[edit] Stronghold of SecurityRating: *****
If players are brave enough, they can attempt the Stronghold of Security in Barbarian Village. Food is recommended for players at all levels and even more for low-level players. (Note: For players with 10-15 hitpoints, trouts or higher are recommended). One can usually pick up raw trout and salmon from powerfishers near barbarian village on world 1.
After players have had their account recovery questions set and proceed through all four levels in the Stronghold, they will be awarded 10,000 coins and either; the Fancy boots which are rainbow coloured or the Fighting boots these boots have spikes on the end. Both these boots have the same stats so either pair is fine.
You can only get the money one time and you can swap your boots if you change your mind.
The monsters in this dungeon get stronger as players descend from level to level, and are aggressive beginning with the second level. There are some “safe” spots on all levels where players can wait to recover their run energy and eat to restore their hitpoints before they proceed further. Also once you get to the last level on the stronghold if you are a low level find the places where there are no monsters or some. But if you’re a higher level get some good armour and a good weapon and you can get the skull sceptre when you have all the pieces to make it.
Some lower trainable monsters in the security stronghold include zombies and minotaurs. The zombies constantly drop steel arrows, body runes, and gems. The minotaurs drop iron arrows and noted rune essence/pure essence which can add up in time.
There have been reports that the random event occurrences tend to be increased in the stronghold, so training for a long time will increase your chances of getting gems and other random event items. Players may bank all items and just sprint through each level to get the rewards easily.
For members, Once completed, the Flesh Crawlers often drop higher leveled herbs, which can be gathered & sold for a tidy sum. [edit] Collecting items[edit] LogsRating:*****
If you have a higher woodcutting level, go to the Grand Exchange. Near there are plain trees. When you get a lot, sell them at the Grand Exchange. They sell for 25 coins each. Those who have reached 60 woodcutting may chop from the multiple yews in Varrock and sell them for 449 coins each.
[edit] CowhidingRating:*****
Cowhiding, or selling Cowhides, is a highly profitable way to make lots of money. However, as you would be making frequent trips to Al-Kharid, completing the Prince Ali Rescue mission would be a smart way to start.
Before starting, empty out all of your inventory (except for a single sword) and withdraw exactly 81 coins. To Cowhide, head to the cow-fields north of Lumbridge. (continue north from Lumbridge, follow the road as it turns, then go up past the Mill; you should see a very large fenced area) It is advised to do this in a very low populated world, as some competition for cows is involved. Enter the cowfield through the gate, and immediately start killing cows and collecting their raw cowhide. This is quite tedious, but the rewards are great.
After collecting at least 27 cowhides (You can also deposit more in the deposit box in the Gnomecopter area) turn on your Run meter and run all the way down to Lumbridge, crossing the first bridge you come to the east, and then entering Al-Kharid. As soon as you get past the gates guarded by the Al-Kharid soldiers, turn south and travel that way (instead of continuing on the dirt path to Al-Kharid) until you see the little building with the brown shirt logo. This is Ellis the tanner’s place. Inside here, ask him to tan all of your cowhides into Hard leather.
After this, continue north from Al-Kharid into southern Varrock. Make your way to the Grand Exchange, and sell all of those beautiful cowhides for 112 coins. These sell remarkably fast, and soon you should have a couple thousand gold coins in your pocket.
[edit] Food collecting=====Cooks’ guild respawn items===== (Fiuty?!) Rating: *****
Gathering items from the cooking guild can be fast money since most respawn fast there but are rare when talking about RuneScape as a whole. Therefore you can gather them at the Cooks’ Guild fast and run them straight to the Grand Exchange for fast coins. It is possible to make 10,000 to 20,000 coins an hour if you work at it and it only requires that you can enter the guild.
[edit] PotatoesRating: *****
Collecting food materials can be quite profitable for beginners. Potatoes, in particular, can be found in several places on both member and free-to-play worlds. The current price of potatoes in the GE are 70 coins, and are in strong demand due to several member food items that can be prepared with them, as well as for Stew in F2P cooking. The fastest location (in F2P worlds) is the potato farm just to the east of Draynor Village. For members, the potato field north of Ardounge is the best area as its only a few steps to the bank.
Bring 23 gardening sacks with you for mass storage and greatly improved profit rate, and if you can create buttered potatoes, cook the potatoes on a range. (Traveling between the Leptoc mansion and the nearby bank to withdraw new potatoes is a good idea.) Purchase the Pat of butter for447 coins at the GE, apply it to the cooked potatoes, then sell them for an excellent profit. The potatoes can be banked in Draynor Village for (F2P) or by going north to the deposit box at the Gnomecopters. Potatoes also can be bought from Wydin’s Food Store in Port Sarim for 16 coins each, banked, and then sold to the Grand Exchange, though this is a slower method. [edit] CheeseRating: *****
With a little bit of cash, a player can also travel to Port Sarim and buy Cheese for 8 coins each at Wydin’s Food Store and in turn sell can also go to Draynor Village and get cheese for free in the witches house.
Members which have completed at least part of Recipe for Disaster quest may buy cheese (and various other profitable food items) at the Culinaromancer’s chest, which also functions as a bank. This shop does not have an infinite stock. [edit] Pastry DoughRating *****
Making pastry dough is a good method to make money. Surprisingly, Pastry dough costs more than the pies it is used to make! First, go to the Grand Exchange and buy about 20 pots of flour. Make sure you have a bucket with you, then go to the Fountain east of the grand exchange, west of the palace. Fill the bucket with water, and mix the water with the flour. Drop the pot, and repeat until all of the flour has been made into pastry dough, then sell the dough for about 176 coins each.
[edit] Wine of ZamorakRating: *****
You must have level 33 mage to do this. Travel to the chaos temple north of Goblin village and telegrab the wine. If you do not telegrab, the monks will attack you, lower your stats, and possibly kill you. When you get about 25 wines, go to the Grand Exchange and sell them for 794 coins. Make sure they sell for at least the price of one Law rune or you will actually lose money.
[edit] Red Spiders’ EggsRating: *****
For F2P these eggs can be found in the sewers of Varrock. There are 2 spawn points for them and they respawn about every 40 seconds (faster on busy worlds). They sell for 358 coins. If you don’t know where the sewers are at, the entrance is just east of the Varrock palace and just north of the east bank. It is marked on your map with . The spiders are towards the end of the sewers by the Moss Giants. The eggs are on the south wall on the ground. The spiders do not drop the eggs.
Beware of the many level 34 spiders though, they’ll try to pile you if you’re not careful.
F2P can also get red spider’s eggs in the volcano on Karamja, same rule applies to watching out for the spiders.
After making a few trips, you’ll figure out just how much food is necessary for survival but runs out just in time for a full inventory of eggs. A minimum Combat level of 50 is recommended.
Also, players with level 10 summoning may summon spirit spiders. Buy the pouches and egg spawn scrolls off the Grand Exchange. The scrolls spawn 0-3 red spiders’ eggs and the spiders last 14 minutes. Each pouch costs the same as one egg, and each scroll costs 1/10 of the price of an egg. Remember that you get up to 3 eggs per scroll, so you can’t lose money doing it!
[edit] Monk’s RobesRating *****
Requirements: 31 Prayer
These spawn at the Monastery just west of Edgeville. There are 2 pieces for them and they respawn approximately 52 seconds. The robes sell for 473 coins for the top and 507 coins for the bottom.
[edit] DyesRating: *****
Harvesting onions and redberries can give some modest profit as well, but by far it is more profitable to make dyes from these items. For only 5 coins (even on F2P worlds), the player can trade 2 onions for yellow dyes, or 3 red berries for red dyes. These can in turn be sold on the Grand Exchange for 193 coins.
Me
What is a good way to make money in runescape f2p?
Woodcutting- If you wish to woodcut, then I suggest get your woodcutting over 70 to 75 by cutting willows and then go chop some yews. Yew logs sell for 459 coins each,(sometimes higher or lower) and are almost always in high demand by players training Fletching, Firemaking and Magic. It is very efficient, but this method is popular, so be careful of other people who has higher woodcutting level.
Fishing- Fishing Lobster, Tuna or Swordfish is a great way to sell, despite the going to Karajama and back. The only free-to-play spots at which to catch lobsters are a fishing spot on Karamja and in the Wilderness. If you have an explorer ring, it would allow the process to be faster. If you are fishing lobsters on Karamja you can sell the lobsters at the Karamja general store for a reasonable price. There is also another way to not leave the island but note your fishes, just go west of the Karajama general store and you should see a person named Stiles, who will note your fishes for free.
Mining- You should mine iron, coal, gold, mithril, adamant, and runite. They are the ores that will get you fast money. For gold, you should go to the crafting guild which has 7 rocks. For mithril, and coal, you should mine at the mining guild. For adamant, you should go west of Lumbridge swamp or Al-Kharid. Runite, I suggest that you get a high combat level before you go mine it. It is really good money, but only available in the wilderness.
Combat- You should get a high combat level first before you go. About level 60+, if you are not then train on Hill Giants, which is a pretty good money, because of the big bones and limpwurt roots. You can also try Cockroach Soldiers if you have high combat level. If you are low on food, sometimes you can go to Barbarian village to get some trout or salmon by the power-fishers or you can go heal at the Monastery, which is free. If you are 90+, then you can go to the Wilderness volcano and attack the Greater Demon which drops various of rune items.
Whats the easiest way to make money on f2p RuneScape?
Free items: ———– When you do the tutorial at the beginning, keep talking to the people that give you things. For example, with the baker that gives you water and flour, bake the bread then talk to him again. He should give you more supplies.
Best Rune weapon: —————– If you just get to level 40 Attack and are looking for a Rune weapon, the Rune Scimitar is recommended over the R2H. The scimitar attacks faster, therefore dealing more damage and killing opponents faster.
Easy money: ———– If you are a member, get to 5 Herblore. Create as many Antipoison potions as possible. Then, sell them to the general store. You will get 114 gp for each potion. Do the quest that allows you to mine Essences. Mine as many as desired and sell them for 45 gp each. Get your Fishing up to 40 then fish Lobsters. Get high combat (over level 50 recommended) and good armor (Adamite+ recommended), then go in the volcano on Karamja Island and kill Lessers. They drop lots of money, and sometimes Rune Med Helement. Sell the Rune Meds for 10,000 gp each. Get to Combat level over 50, Magic 55, then get 60 gp, food (swordfish or lobsters), good armor and weapon (Adamite or Rune – recommended). Go to Karajama’s Lesser Demons Pits and kill them until you get a few Rune Mediums if possible. Then, get five Fire Runes and one Nature Rune for every Rune Medium you get. Use High Alchemy on them. You will get 11,000 gp for every one you use it on. Alternately, you can get 55 Magic and 10,000 and buy one Rune Medium. Use High Alchemy on it and get 11,000 and buy another until you run out of Runes to make a 1,000 gp profit for each one. If you are a member, go to the Gnome stronghold and pick Flax. Make them into bowstring, then sell them for 100 gp each. Note: This trick is only for members. Get your Woodcutting level to at least 45 (level 50 is recommended). Go to Seers Village (on the other side of Ice Mountain/Member’s Land) and chop down maple trees. These trees are difficult to chop down, but if you get over 500 maple logs, they will sell for a total of 55,000 gp (100 gp to 150 gp each). Once you are at level 60 Woodcutting, you can chop down Yews, which sell up to 300 gp each. Then, at level 75 Woodcutting, you can chop down Magic Trees and sell their logs for anywhere from 500 gp to 1500 gp. A high Woodcutting level is very important to earn money when you are a member.
To get money, fight Moss Giants. They drop objects such as Black Squares, Magic Staffs, Runes, Uncut Gems, and 3 to 300 GP. They drop Big Bones, which can be used for Prayer. Moss Giants in free play mode can be found on Crandor Island and Varrok Sewers. Get your Mining level up to 40. Go to the mine near Rimmington. Mine Gold Ore until your pack gets full. Then, go to the general store in Rimmington. Sell the Gold Ores there. 7 Gold Ores are worth more than 300 gp. Note: Watch out of the Rock Golem; it appears sometimes when you are mining.
Mine lots of ore until you are at level 15 Mining. Then, use the furnace until you are at level 34. Next, mine Iron and bank them until you have 1000 Ores, then sell all of them to the armor seller in Varrock for about 250 gp each. You should have about 130,000 coins, because iron only works when making bars 50% of the time.
Get to level 60 Wood Cutting and sell Yews for no lower than 260 GP. Get to over level 60 in mining. Go in the mining guild, then mine Coal and Mithril ores. Sell Coal for 150 gp each and the Mithril ores for 500 gp each. Alternately, if you have over level 50 smithing, make them into Mithril Bars, and sell them for 1,000 gp each. Get a brass key and go to Barbarian Village. Go east from there, and when you reach the bridge turn left. You will see a shack. Use your brass key on the door and climb down the ladder. Kill the giants there, collect the items that they drop, (3 to 300 gp, Big Bones, Iron Full Helm, Iron Kite, etc.), and keep fighting until you run out of space. Then, sell the Big Bones for 200 gp each and sell the iron items at the shop. First, mine and smelt iron until you have sixteen bars. Then, go to Varrock and smith them into three iron plate bodies and one iron longsword. Sell the iron plate bodies to Horvic in Varrock and the iron longsword to the shopkeepers at the sword shop (which is also in Varrock). You should now have 1002 gold. Battle Lesser Demons in Karamaja. The recommended food is tuna, but salmon works. You should be at least level 48. Another easy way to make money is to make your inventory able to hold 20 bananas. Talk to the person inside the hut and ask for a job. If you face the hut’s door, the crate should be on the left side. You only need to put ten in at one time. You can make 30 gp every time you fill the crate and talk to the plantation manager. After you talk, wait for a few seconds. He will ask you to fill the crate again. Mine Ess after completing the Rune Mystery quest. Then, make runes. Sell them at a magic shop. Repeat this process as desired.
